Vintage Rail Journeys is proud to share our passion for Australian railway history. These carriages have been lovingly restored to their original 1960’s style and condition, and we hope you love the experience.
Rail travel really is the most relaxed way to enjoy Australia. Whether you are watching the scenery roll by from the comfort of your private cabin, or taking a short walk to the lounge and dining carriages to enjoy the company of your fellow guests.
Our itineraries are designed so the majority of our travel is during daylight hours. Unique to Vintage Rail Journeys, we are stabled for most of the night so you can settle in for a peaceful sleep, assured of comfort, safety, and quiet. Your carriage will have a dedicated Hospitality Attendant who will be on hand to assist, answer your questions or make you a cuppa.
From the moment you step aboard, everything is taken care of. Vintage Rail Journeys continues to deliver the charm, character and sense of fun our guests know and love. With all-inclusive dining, fine regional wines, barista-made coffee, and thoughtfully curated Off Train Experiences, every detail has been considered. Lounge Carriage
Join us in the Lounge Carriage, the social heart of the train. This is where stories are shared, connections are made, and time slows down. With all-inclusive travel, you can savour Australian wines, beers, barista coffee, soft drinks and juices. Whether you’re mingling with fellow travellers or simply watching the landscape drift by, the Lounge Carriage is where the journey becomes just as memorable as the destination.
Dining Carriage
Prepared fresh by our onboard chef, each dish is hearty, flavourful and inspired by the regions we travel through. Enjoy your meal with your beverage of choice, it’s all included in your fare. It’s warm Australian hospitality, served with a side of ever-changing scenery.
HERITAGE TWIN CABINS
- Heritage Twin cabins accommodate 2 guests
- By day, you have a 3-seat lounge
- By night, you have upper and lower bunks (one member of your party will need to be able to climb the ladder to the top bunk)
- You have your own ensuite, complete with the original fold down hand basin and fold down toile
HERITAGE SINGLE CABINS
- We love to welcome solo guests onboard, and there
is no single supplement for our Heritage Single cabin - Each has a day lounge, foot rest, fold down hand basin and mirror
- By night, your cabin converts to a cosy bed
- A large, shared bathroom is available at either end of the Singles carriage
Riverine Rail Tour
5-day, 4-nights Roundtrip from Sydney
Explore the flavours of regional New South Wales on this all-inclusive five-day Riverina Rail Tour. Renowned as Australia’s abundant ‘food bowl’, the Riverina is rich in agricultural heritage, passionate producers and country charm.
